I'm a girl, and I do not like flirting. Sometimes it makes me disgusted to think a guy is flirting with me (especially if I don't like him). I don't know how to flirt with guys, and I don't really want to unless it's with someone I really, really like, but even then I'd be too bone-shaking nervous to act like me of all people are sexy.

I don't purposely try to shut guys down or anything. I just don't like flirting, I don't really like guys flirting with me but I do like them talking to me and giving me attention.

Is it normal?

    As a guy, flirting feels like some bullshit game to me. I'd rather just have a natural conversation with someone and actually get to know them. If you can't connect with someone in ordinary conversation, then why bother talking at all? I'm not going to put that much effort into the pursuit. Some girls try to make you bend over backwards to show that you're interested in them, and that's the exact moment that I lose interest. You're either available and interested, or you're not, and I won't waste my time playing games if you don't want to be genuine with me.

    I feel the same way. I'd rather talk and get attention (which may be considered flirting, I guess), then to be flirted with in an obvious and cheesy way.

    Perhaps their attempts to flirt with you are a little obvious, overstated, or clumsy. The best flirting is where you're not 100% sure you're being flirted with at first.
