Is it normal to not like america

I dont know why, but america makes me sick.
They believe the end of the world starts with them, that anything bad can happen to them at any second. Tsunamis, earthquakes. I mean come on. Even a comet hitting washington? Whats the odds of that? And american idol? Fine, 1 season, ok. 2nd season, alright. 3 season, what? 4th season, not again. And now the 8th or 9th or wichever they at. And then you can win a green card there too.

I just feel that america is over doing it.

That is normal, or is it?

First of all, on a political level, you should know that many of the citizens of the United States feel very badly about our government's overreaching ways. You should also know that a great many have been blinded by their education and honestly think that the government is acting with the support and at the request of other nations. Many more simply don't know what to do.

Try to remember that only a whopping 30 percent of the entire american population has enough faith in the "systems" to vote, most people are entirely fed up and waiting for the opportunity to shake the matter up.

As for Earthquakes and Tsunami's - Haiti is not part of the United States, although it is a protectorate territory (a disgusting fact). Chile is distinctly not American - the "aid" we have sent to both nations is something that the people of America see as "giving back to the world" - regardless of the fact that most of the aid sent to Haiti is being obstructed by the Haitian government. My cousin actually travelled to Haiti through a charity that has been there for over 12 years, to help lay down some new infrastructure for clean water for an orphanage, the tales he has related home are very very sad.

As for American culture, we are a nation of PEOPLE that believe strongly in charity and we as individuals all want the best for others, constantly seeking to better the world. But like most people find out in life, it is always easier to see and solve the problems of others than it is to see ones own. I hope our society is able to start to take care of it's own a bit better int he coming years though I hope we never lose our spirit of thankfulness for what we do have and our willingness to help those who ask for it.

As for Pop culture, things like American Idol and movies and music: The United States is a huge nation, in a nation this size where industry has been encouraged for so long, it is not surprising that powerhouse states, states that face the rest of the world (California, and NY)- that Pop Culture reigns supreme. These two states have seen so much immigration that with all that inspiration docking, of course you're going to see exports leaving that are prepared to entertain the placed from whence our imports came! I predict that in the coming years, other nations which are just starting to realize their strengths will take the United States on in the race for World Appeal in popular culture. I say, bring it on.

And on a final note: Remember that the people of a nation are all individuals. It is entirely without logic or reason to expect that you would love every person who comes from your own nation, and it is equally illogical to hate everyone who comes from another. Judge people based on their individual merit a bit more. Birthplace does NOT define a human.

I live in America, and from your explanation, you only know America through the media. Where I live, there are lots of perfectly friendly and reasonable people who are generous to the highest degree. Don't judge people by their nationality, and certainly not their government.

I dont know about this one. I think its pretty normal, lots of people feel that way. I personally like America, but in 50 yrs or so, i'll probly come to extremely dislike it. My advice? Look at the good things in America. Travel to the mountians and desert. Swim in the ocean. America has all kinds of habitats, dozens of fabulous cities. Visit some. Ignore American Idle. Look at the bright side!

Im not really sure what your talking about.
You should find better reasons before hating a country, that is, unless you've lived their.

Im from America, and i personally hate it! Government = wayy too overruling

You can't seriously hate America purely because of our government. Think about all of the other liberties and freedoms you have, and our exceptional standard of living as compared to other countries less fortunate than we are (And I'm not saying we are the most fortunate country in the world and that we are so great. I'm saying there are many who are less fortunate than us). Tell me, what about our government impedes you from doing what you want and need to do in everyday life? Besides smoking pot in the streets.

There are many things that make America great. We have temperate rain forest, deserts, mountain ranges, tropics, subtropics, and anything you could possibly want. We have a vast variety of cultures and subcultures.

Every country is special and unique in its own way. Every country has idiots, every country has assholes, and every country has good, nice people. If you are wasting your time and energy hating millions of people that you don't know, you really need to find a hobby.

Nope, it's not normal. You should go to the US, travel outside big cities and see the big cities too, experience the country and then decide if you like it or not.

I'm American and I have no idea what you're talking about. I think you're just searching really hard for a reason to hate America because the examples you provided are frankly, quite stupid. Tsunamis, earthquakes, and comets? What?? Win a green card? Are you delusional?

Yeah I get what you mean, because they're such an influence on the world, everybody kind of hates them. It's just ther attitude they have. Now I'm not saying all of them, but my family members that live in the US are condescending idiots.

America is the Best country in the World...I mean what other country can freely get into every other countries business?

America has the RIGHT to control and dictate what every country does in the world and if they don't like it we can invade them, sanction them and/or ostracize them so they are cut off from the world.

No other country has the balls to tell America to mind their own business or to get out of their country. America Rules because the rest of the world lets us....HAHAHAHA
