Is it normal to not let my mom read twilight

You can't stop her. Although it would be good if you could stop her from wasting so much time on the stupid series.

I mean she's allowed to watch/read/do whatever she wants and if it's about the sex references in the books, you are overreacting, either way you're still being immature.

Get over it and let her read the books. Me and my mum like the same video games/movies, it's nothing to get freaked over.

That makes NO sense at all!! Your Mum is entitled to read and like whatever she wants too! R u this controlling in other things or just twilight? There's an upside to het liking it, she could take u too see the new movies and buy twilight things. I can't see any possible reason that it would b a bad thing to let her read them. Total over reaction and I'm guessing u are young. Please grow up, just because she is your mum doesn't mean she isn't a real human being with her own life!

I wouldn't want my mom to read the books either because of some of the "R-rated" parts in them that she doesn't know about. She'd probably freak out that I even read them.

aw, i think it's kinda cool when my mom likes stuff i like. her and i went to see the twilight movie, and she went to warped tour with me cause she likes some of the music i like.

Get over it!!! I'm 30 and my daughter is almost 11. We r both twihards and it's fun. It's our thing. We went to see all 3 as soon as they came out. We both read the books and love buying related products! Wats soooo bad about letting ur mom like something u like?!!! My daughter thinks it's cool that we both like the same thing.

Lol what's next keep a stash of hair of the actors to secretly sniff it? If she reads the books you and your mom will have something to talk about for a while and can get you closer to each other. Sounds good IMO.

What an effin drama queen!!!

You feel as if she would disrupt your "sacred place" by reading it and feeling just as you do. You feel as if your affections you developed via that book would become defiled by her intrusion. It's your intimacy.

This is not good. You should burn those books (I know you won't, but it would be better for you)!
