Is it normal to not know what to call my boyfriend?

Alright, first you must understand what kind of guy my bf is. He is the typical, macho, alpha-male who thinks he's big, strong, awesome, and always right. He is a good guy though, and can be very sweet and protective of me. He always calls me the sweetest things like "Sweetie", "Dear", "Sweetheart," and "Lovey". And when he does, it makes me forget all his faults and get a warm fuzzy feeling inside, and want to respond with an equally endearing term. However, "sweetie" or "dear" just don't fit his size, personality, and ego. He's probably have a heart-attack. But if I call him "my man" or "Sir" or "Stud" it's not at all loving, and is like asking for sex...which I don't always want. Anyone else have this dilemma? Any ideas?
