Is it normal to not know if you want to have a baby?

I'm 29 years old and have been married for two years, we both have good jobs and recently purchased a home. When the question arises, "well when are you guys going to have kids?" we say we're not because it easier then saying anything else because people get on your case because they're rude...my problem is that, most of the time I'm positive that I don't want to have kids but then every so often I want to have a child so badly that I hurt emotionally. The want for a child lasts a week or two and then it completely disappears for months! Is it normal for someone my age to be like this?!

Become a queer and you won't be able to make kids unless I have been missing something. Gay men have a good life.

Don't do it unless you are 100% sure coz you can't send it back! The important thing to remember is that the cute baby grows up into a teenager, and then a real human being. I think the best moms are those who want to be relied on or want to feel needed ALL THE TIME!!

A lot of people now want to concentrate on their careers and / or enjoy the freedom of nights out - without feeling guilty or having to stay sober to rush home for baby sitter etc. Kids are a massive burden and most people only enjoy them at one particular age. Loads of people love babies, but hate when they start school and they're stuck with the chore of helping with homework! Then there are all the appointments to doctors and dentists, not to mention mind-numbing kids' parties with equally mind-numbing mothers who talk incessantly about their little darlings.

Thank God mine has grown up now. I'm just waiting patiently for him to move out so I can get my life back!!

Don't do it - you are too young to bore yourself to death!

No greater joy and at times no greater heart ache, but is always the right choice!
