I just got called on this recently by my husband. Its odd how I don't really think about it when I'm in the moment because I'm always in my head and sometimes I'm embarrassed that I needed whatever it was I didn't adequately thank him for. I'd go so far as to say I'm uncomfortable with it but I suppose that is just my pride and I need to suck it up and show some gratitude :P

It's normal.. But do you do this everytime? Cos it happens to me alot but I don't show it either because I'm thinking about something else during the conversation or not wanting my friend to help me with it.

I do get over it sometimes when I'm aware that I'm not being sensitive enough. So, I just fake it. Not every time but I try not to be plain cold.. It's irritating for some ppl

Maybe you have some form of autism? Autistic people have a lot of trouble expressing their emotions.

    it is normal

but you should try showing thanks and gratitude next time.

Because you don't know that people who do these things are there to help you and care about you, while you shove crap in their face.

Look at your friend, smile - not a grin - a smile. Walk up to him, gently grab is left shoulder with your right and say "Thank you, you are really a great friend." accompanied by a slow grabbing motion with your hand that is on his shoulder. Keep smiling while looking at him deeply in this eyes.
