Is it normal to not have close friends in college?

After highschool, I moved with my parents to a different country and I havent been able to make any close friends during. Ive been living in this place for almost two years. Ive met a handful of people and have gone out in friendly group outings a couple of times. Considering its been almost two years, it seems like it would be fair to say that I should have people to call friends but I dont. I really miss my old home and my old friends but I know that for now, Im going to have to stay here due to school and financial reasons. But I would really like to make some friends and be able to keep them. Is it normal for it to be this hard to maintain friendships in college?

people in college especially tend to be under extreme pressure. even after you graduate you wont have hundreds of close friends only a handful in most cases. that's all you really need to be honest.

You should see if there's any clubs you can join that are for people of different cultures. That's a great way to meet people who are trying to adjust to a new place.

Depends on the cultures... but yes. Some people don't make friends that easily. Normal.
