Is it normal to not have any real friends?
I'm 28 and have no friends outside of work. I went back to school a couple years ago (graduated a year ago) and used that as an excuse for whenever anyone asked why I didn't have girlfriend and don't date ("too busy", same excuse I used through high school and college). All of my coworkers are 10+ years older than me with families so I can't really do much with them outside of work. I don't drink and I am not into music so I don't hang out at bars or clubs. The few friends I had in college and high school live 2 states away so we don't talk anymore. My relatives all live halfway across country. Now I am trying to get a new job to move away while simultaneously applying to go back to school again for a second masters degree, and I am now realizing that I think I am doing it just because I am so lonely and want to meet new people. At work I am generally an outgoing person and everyone seems to like me, so I don't think I'm a complete outcast...
