Is it normal to not give your child a birthday?

On my mothers birthday i gave her a nice giftcard and a really nice card.I know its not alot but at least it something. A very important birthday has came up for me my sweet cough cough 18. All she said was happy birthday. She didnt even give me a card or nothing. then on my birthday i decieded to just order pizza and she said wouldnt even let me get two boxes.smh. And now im suppose to be having a dinner party but she keeps giving reason for me not to go. I swear its so unfair. She has ears but she dont listen,if i ever tried to tell her she'll just start yelling and make me seem like im the bad person.

Next time don't get her anything and see how she feels. We don't really care about celebrating birthdays in my family either but we always get at least a card and a cake. She should have been a little bit nicer to you on your bday.

aybe she has a problem that you getting older. move out of the house and get your own place. you mother is acting very selfish. hang out and party with your freinds. you can stay out as late as you want cuz your 18 now.

  • Most parents aren't bad enough they won't listen, and if you are very sad about what happened and she won't listen why, try approaching the topic differently. I agree, she should have been nicer to you, buy before your next b-day comes, talk to her about it, it sounds cheesy but it will help, trust me.
