Is it normal to not gain weight?

I'm an 18yo male 6'4'' and 170 lbs. I've always been a lean guy, but It seems like I cannot gain weight no matter what I do. I lift weights regularly and eat regularly but still cannot put on weight. I always eat until I can't anymore too. Is this just how I am genetically? Will I always be skinny?

I'm in the same situation as well. But I'm desperately trying to gain weight because I am a 5'9" female and only 98 pounds.... I hate how skinny I am and I love food but no matter how much I eat, it seems to only fluctuate a little bit before lowering back down.

you might have a thyroid disease, but as long as you are healthy and nothing else is unbalanced I would just guess that its a fast metabolism, otherwise go to your doctor for a checkup and have them do some blood tests. I found out very late that I had a thyroid disorder and I can NEVER gain weight. I'm 18, 5'6 and i'm 105-107lbs

It is normal, as mentioned, probably due to a high metabolism. I am the same way.
If your daily routine allows for it try to eat more than 3 meals per day & focus on protein (meat, fish, chicken, etc) & even more importantly carbohydrates (rice, potato, pasta, bread, etc)

Yeah, this is metabolism, however expect it to slow down greatly as you age.
Continue doing what you do, but add a bunch of protein everyday. An abundance of protein allows your body to gain more mass, so it should help.

  • yeah, it's called having a high motabolism. Careful not to eat whatever and never excersise though, because when you get older everyone's metabolism decreases.
