Okay so focusing on it is only exacerbating the problem. She needs begin to think logically and to NOT focus on it so much. Honey I'm a Registered Nurse and I say you'll probably be fine. Do you smoke? If you ARE short of breath or feel any type of lung pain when you're breathing, or develop a cough that you just can't get rid of, then go see a Dr. just to make sure you don't have pneumonia or something. But focusing on your lungs chest rising and falling is not normal.

They mean their stomach muscles. Chill people. It can also be felt in the back and your head.

Do some breathing exercises. Take deep breaths so you can feel your lungs expanding into your back and use your stomach muscles to push the air out in a controlled fashion. In for four counts, hold for four counts, out for for counts: repeat- or 8 counts if you count fast.

Since when does co2 and o2 exchange happen in the stomach??? Lol! Stop focusing on if u can feel it or not. If ur talking, typing, walking or doing anything else that involves conciousness, and your not having episodes of passing out, then I would say you're probably always breathing. Recite this next time u feel that way "God does not give a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind". (& mean it when u say it") hope it gets better.

    • It's not your stomach. Your lungs expand and push your stomach lower, and outwards.
