Is it normal to not feel hungry anymore?

I never feel hungry but I know I'm hungry because my stomachs growls and I haven't eaten much or at all all day. And when I do eat I feel like I have to throw up. (I don't throw up though). I'm not anorexic and never have been. I'm scared I don't eat much and I've lost some weight. (I'm not overly skinny in any way I'm a perfectly normal petit sized girl).

If you are taking any medicine with a stimulant such as a decongestant, it can kill your appetite. Also, if your gallbladder goes bad, you will lose your appetite and get nauseated.

This happens to me when I'm very nervous about something. I'm not hungry and thinking about eating makes me want to throw up. After this thing (the date, the exam, the day) ends, I realise I'm not nervous and I can eat again. SO, is there something making you nervous?

That happened to me once. I went a long time without eating because I just didn't feel hungry. Then one day all out of the blue I felt hungry and picked up my normal eating habits again.

Like you said OP, I didn't feel like eating and if I did eat, I felt like I'd throw up.

It was really strange, but I just didn't feel hungry for a long time. My aunt (who's a doctor) said that as long as I didn't drop below the average body weight for my height, I'd be ok.

I probably should mention that I'd had brain surgery prior to this no-eating period. For me, it took a little more than 7 months to snap out of it.

I hope this info helps you and you start feeling better soon.

Also, feel free to reply to this if you have any questions. Or you can PM me. I'll be watching this post for a few days.

Has anything stressful happened to you recently? Have you been feeling depressed? These things can trigger a lack of appetite. It doesn't sound too abnormal, as it happens to a lot of people. But I'd recommend visiting a doctor if it persists, and try and find out the cause.
