Is it normal to not feel anything when someone dies

I don't feel anything when someone dies like a close relative or a friend.

this is from a young age people around me find it odd or some think I'm heartless.

I just don't care people die all the time its gotten to the point that I don't go to funeral's because what's the point I understand why others go I just dont feel the point in going myself.

it bothers me that people think that I'm some kind of asshole

yes you are heartless. 3

I go to funeral to show support to the family even if I don't feel anything for the one who passed away.

I don't know if it's normal not to feel anything. I admit that when my grandmother died I was relieved because she was blind, dependent and my aunt wasn't treating her well. I was happy to be honest when she died. But only that time I remember not feeling bad about someone closed who passed away.

You don't bother or interest me enough for that...

And she's the only one. Originally, I just wanted to refer her back to the good advice she'd already gotten and wouldn't take. Then it became a little game for me.

Sounds like you haven't lost someone truly close. When you do, it will hurt.

Close doesn't mean close on paper - you could lose a brother or a parent or a school friend but not feel much if that person wasn't "your person", if you understand. When you lose "your person", it hurts so fucking much that you want to jump in the grave with them. But it's ok, it's meant to hurt, because as you say, that's life.

So saying you "don't feel anything when someone dies" is not exactly true, is it? I understand that relationship with death and the lack of need to mourn, but I do miss the people and pets I've lost. I treasure the memories I have and think of them from time to time. And although I accept that we won't create any new ones together I feel a little sad.

I totally agree. I DO cry for a day but after that no. I miss my dogs more than people.

Rosie, seriously, people are in and out of our lives all the time. Best not to become attached.

I miss my dead relatives, and my dead animals. I used to keep the urns with the ashes of two of my cats who passed away on a table near my bedside table, but right now those things are probably in a box.
