Is it normal to not desire a relationship?

I'm almost going on 30 and haven't had much luck in dating, having about a total of 15 partners since I turned 18, with my longest romantic partner lasting a mere 3 months.
So, most of my time has been spent being single, and I used to hate it and want to find something better. However, I've recently come to see the positives to the single life:

- more free time.
- almost zero commitments.
- less financial commitments.
- potentially more variety in sex partners.

Of course, there's also downsides:

- Nobody to consistently spend time with.
- People start to view you as a weirdo, and tend to incorrectly assume that your main interest in life is having sex with them and anyone else, which limits one's amount of human interaction / friends.
- When I eventually move out I'll have to pay for the rent / mortgage by myself.
- Less likely to have children.

Still, I feel like the positives outweigh the negatives here...
Is this normal?

Yeah, I read that and said to myself. Wow, the rest of your story sounds completely fake now. He could wait ten more years and be the Forty Year Old Virgin.

      • Seriously?
I feel like a lot of people between 25 and 30 nowadays still live at home. Maybe it's just New York?
Honestly, out here it's not very uncommon... you're one of two things, rich and livin' it up or shit outta luck working some bullshit retail job.

Makes you sound like a loser. What women would waste her time on a 30 yo living with mommy? Of course you're single.

"Nobody to consistently spend time with." You could watch Antique Roadshow with your parents.
