Is it normal to not being able to look your father in the eyes?

so i have this problem, where i cant look my fathers in the eyes when we are talking. i dont remember how long this have been happening, but if i have to estimate it would be like 14 years. i guess since i,m not looking him in the eyes, he probably doing the same.
so wondering if anyone else have the same issue, and know why?

    My dad came to United State and leave me in China when I was only about one year old.My mom rised me. I haven't seen my father untile I was twelve,which is the time I comed to US.

    While he work and study in state he remarride with an othere Chinese wormen and had two kid, one at 2001 and the other one at 2006. This is before the time I have come to state. When I arrive I have to live with them.BUT,Seriously those three people are not my real family, I have no relation to them since my mom arealy divorced with my father. I am not bleaming those three guys or my father. It was his right to divorce and remarrige.

    In termes of emotion and relationship, I tending treat my half brother,half sister and the "steap mom" as a stranger. To my father,ye he is my father in law, so what, I am not going to acept him as my father emotionly or in the mind.I take his advise or "necessary items".

    The truth is I am going to treat him like a stranger in the world, as my father doesn't exist when I can live on my own.

      When I first read that sentence, I thought your comment was going to be about culture norms, ie; that its rude to look people in the eyes in China. I'm curious to know if the OP's dad came from another country.

        Is not about culture,I think it goes down that don't have a good relationship with father so that you feel awakward and unnatural to have close contact

      Your reply kinda has nothing to do with the question the poster asked..

      But it sounds to me like you are wandering down a very dark road. A road pathed with moss and hatred... You can't live your life with no remorse and loathing in your heart. eventually it will devour you.
      So basically you end up hurting yourself. Wow, that'll show him.
