Is it normal to not be worried when a person screams?

I live in a city, on a street where there are always a bunch of kids out playing or a bunch of teens goofing around, and of course they're always loud. They're usually out at all times of the day, night included.

Is it normal, then, to not be worried when I hear someone scream? I mean, I'm worried that one day it will be a scream of someone getting hurt since the city has a high crime rate, but at the actual time of the scream, I just always figure it's someone playing around. Is this wrong?

When someone is on trouble you'll hear it in their voice. It's normal to be a little jaded from living in a big city

No, kids often scream when they are playing around. However you probably need to learn the diffrence between a playfull scream and a scream of terror.
