Is it normal to not be tired after being up for 18+ hours?

I know most people stay up for 16 hours a day and sleep 8. Or they have some other hours that total to 24, and cycle with the rest of the world.

I never EVER get tired after having been up for even 18 hours. Usually I'm up for about 20-22 before I am tired enough to sleep, but then I usually feel the need to sleep for about 8-10 hours... because of this I'm always on a really messed up sleep schedule. It makes school & work very difficult, as well as planning things with friends! I'm usually sleep deprived as I try to stay on schedule with the rest of the world. Is this normal? Any advice on what could help?

that condition has a name, My friend can go 4 night with no sleep and keep going during the day super ok. .
and when she sleeps , is no more than 2 hours, I don't know if it is bad for your body and brain. But the Pope Juan Pablo II, use to sleep no more than 4 hours, as you get older sleep less and less. .. maybe you sistem changed before you get older.

My doctor recently prescribed some antihistimines rather than sleeping tablets to help me sleep, coz they're not addictive. I took one and it took me 3 days to fully wake up. I have used Periton in the past which makes me tired to try to establish a routine.

I have an extreme version of this. Without doing something about it, I'd go about 60-80 hours before I slept (96 hours was my record). I'm not going to recommend what my solution is because it's unhealthy and isn't a great solution anyway.

I cope very well without sleep. Apart from me looking a bit pale, nobody would know I hadn't slept at all in four days. However, when the condition was milder (when I was about four or five), I slept about four hours a night from 1am to 5am and then took two hours sleep after school if I needed it (which was rare). You don't need eight hours consecutive sleep. Two lots of four hours, or a four and a two are just as good, if not better. And this may allow you more control over your social life.

Yeah, and it's cheaper than drugs with a lot of the same effects. And it makes you feel... different. Not that I'm recommending it to anyone.

Yo, honestly speaking (I could swear upon whatever you people like), I strongly believe my record is untouchable... 8 DAYS (7 NIGHTS, 180 HOURS) WITH NO SLEEP AT ALL!!! I tried to do it again several times in the future but till the present day I haven't managed to get even close (3 days and I'm dead)! I must be getting old or something, witch is pretty natural after all these sh*t my stamina and my body have sustained all these years of my life... I never was the "good guy" type of person and I don't regret it, I've enjoyed my life to its maximum limits!!!

I was up for 9 lol but that was Afghanistan. I don't think I'd be able to do that back here in the states

          • What the - ?! What do you even do to allow yourself to stay up for that long? I thought my record was good but it is nothing compared to you guys! I have tried to stay up for like 2 days straight and I couldn't do it then. I'm planning for a big one whenever I get the week off from school. You people are Gods....

Weird thing is, I don't even like staying up this much and I've never *tried* to just for kicks xD The longest I've stayed up is probably around the 50-60 hour mark.

You're getting into life-threatening territory there. After four days, I was hallucinating, having timeslides, constant nausea, confusion.

It's the no sleep at all bit that's the killer. I once went thirteen days with no more than 15 minutes sleep per day but I was fully-functioning, just slightly tired.

That's sooooooooooooooo true, bro!!! I couldn't even communicate properly or recognize familiar people during the last night of my "non-resting marathon"! It was really f*cked up, though, I clearly do not recomend it to nobody!!! :)
