Don't want to have sex with your wife because she's gotten fat. She use to be in great shape and has really let herself go. She goes to the gym but her genes have just got the best of her. I however am still in great shape.

what counts, is that she still values your opinion on how your perceive her. she goes to the gym to try and get in shape, but women have a harder time with weight, especially when they get older. its called hormones. guys actually kind of luck out when it comes to this. also, if she is stressed, it may be causing her body to produce more cortisol which causes weight gain. instead of being upset about her weight gain, try working out with her, like go hiking or play tennis. not only will she be more at ease to lose weight, but you guys will also have a chance to bond again.
Men like this don't deserve to be married. The fact he says he us in great shape is bullshit. Because as we all have seen when couples get older usually BOTH of them get fat. It sounds to me like you never really loved her. Obviously us guys are visual, but there is supposed to be more to it than that. There is suppose to be love and feelings for each other, If she puts on a couple pounds and you don't want her then obviously your love for her isn't very strong.
"Fat" is not a synonym for "Ugly". You love someone regardless of their shape. It's not something you can help. If she is going to gym it's for physical benefit, which means she is doing something about it.
