Is it normal to not be happy on your birthday?
It used to be a happy time of year but now I see it as a time when Im made fun of the most, especially when it comes to the mistakes I've made this year.

Your birthday should be a happy day for you were your friends and loved ones celebrate your birth! You need to replace some people in your life if tyey are making you sad on your birthday.

Whoa there young one. After 68 of the damn things, birthdays are only a reminder of how few I have left. How I would love to trade places with you, and let EVERYBODY on earth make fun of me all they please.
Be thankful for what you have.
When I used to celebrate birthdays and mine, I was never happen. Past a certain age, no one gave a damn about birthday. My family wouldn't let me invite my friends over and they even told me that they didn't exist (they did). Unpleasant memories come to mind. Now that I stopped celebrating, a huge weight has been lifted of my shoulders.
I have only had one birthday and to hear tell of it, I didn't come across as sounding too happy about it.
I feel that it's normal for older people who dislike being reminded of their mortality every year. (or dislike looking/feeling older)
I remember being really sad the night of my birthday for a long time because I didn't want it to be over. It was the one day I felt special and I never wanted it to end :) so silly...
I don't celebrate my birthday but I don't let others know that...and lose out on free stuff... No!
I had major bummer birthdays because everyone makes such a big deal about it and I just want to have a usual day. It can also be depressing knowing you're one year older. Its only big for me once a decade of my life has past and I'd like to mark the positive changes to my life since.
My mom usually works on my birthday, and my sister and her kids come over to spend the night for Christmas. My dad sees it as just another day and I don't have any friends to spend it with.
Are you OP?
Well seems like you really want to celebrate your birthday... though even I work on my birthday sometimes. If you really want you can do something you like on the day , maybe go to the movies, shopping and remind everyone about your birthday a week before...
Birthdays aren't important for myself, I think its overrated so don't feel left out.
lolz it's my birthday today. I'm still fairly young so I don't share the exact same anguish as you, but I do feel as though my birthday has become more lackluster. I don't mind it, because I guess I sort of accepted it but eh you know.
Happy Birthday to me....yay.
