Is it normal to not be friends with your sibling?

I am 32, my sister is 30 and we are not friends. We both live together at home (which is a long story: suffice it to say, we cannot afford living away from home). All she does all day long is sit on her ass, watch TV or read harry Potter books for the 12th time or something. Either that, or she is recovering from some illness or flu or virus. I tried motivating her to do stuff, but she doesnt want to ever go into the city or do anything. She is a very boring person. I thought it is her depression, but she is taking like 8 pills a day for that and she suddenly has the energy ot go out when her other (few) friends call, just not with me i guess.

It is very taxing. I dont understand how someone can sit at home all day long and do nothing. She has a car (which my parents bought her but not me) - so I am always the one asking and she always says "I ma not taking you anywhere". She also doesnt let me borrow the car, thinking somehow i will crash it. But then she has no problem asking me for money or when she wants favors out of me. I feel like if we werent blood related and forced together by circumstance, we would not be friends. I cant stand her really, she is boring, unmotivated, not fun at all and she is not very understanding. Everyime she does go out, she asks after like an hour when we can go home again and how super exhausted she is (!). From what I dont know, it is not like she ever does anything.

I cannot afford moving out and living in the city. So i am stuck with her and my even more boring dad at home. They are both suited for each other. They sit in front of the TV for hours watching these mindless shows like zombies.

I dont own a car because I canot afford it either, so i am stuck. All my friends live 3000 miles away too and finding new stuff to do when you live in the suburbs without a car and no public transportation is hard.

Is it normal to not be friends with your sister or even like her? On the one hand she tells everyone i am a bad sister (! for what I still dont know), on the other hand she is the one who is constantly isolating herself and saying she doesnt want to hang out with me. WTF.

    I'd sooner live in my truck than live with people I don;t get along with. That's why I live in my truck.

    It's a bad idea to live with family for too long because things will eventually get bad between the people. Your best bet is to move out or make your parents kick her out on her ass.

    I think RandomJelly is a bit harsh, as a lot of adult age people are now living with their parents due to the economic situation....I am college educated and have a fantastic resume and have been out of work for about 6 months....

    That being said, he/she DOES have a point that you need to get out of your parents house. Look on Craigslist for affordable apartments in your area.

    Living with your immediate seems like a very toxic situation.

    Moral of the story is: you're in your effin 30's...get the hell out of your parents house. That's embarrassing and you CAN afford it. Learn the bus schedule, get a damn job flipping burgers and get a cheap apartment. You both should be ashamed. Adults (that aren't in a relationship) do NOT make good roommates....you can't live together and get along. Plus, neither of you have a life and therefore are miserable creatures with no self worth...making it even more difficult to get along. Your poor parents. Get. Out.
