Is it normal to not be able to "turn over a new leaf"?

I have some bad habits that I can't seem to get rid of. They make me guilty and miserable all the time, but I can't seem to summon up the will-power to change and do better.

For example: I'm a little chubby round the middle, especially after four babies. I know I should work out and maintain my health, but even after making an attempt, I fall back into my old ways.

Am I just weak-willed, or are there others like this?

There are lots like this I'm sure. Being a mother makes you beautiful! Try not to stress or try to find an activity you like that helps you shed the excess.

I know exactly how you feel--which is why I am in no position to give advice. If you're anything like me, you have all sorts of knowledge, all sorts of facts, all sorts of attempts and little to show for it.
I also suspect your weight is the smallest "issue" on your list. Knowing you can and should truly love yourself is still short of actually GETTING it yes? Because if and when it finally sinks in none of these issues would weigh so heavily--at least that is what we suspect.
But, we ARE on a journey, and it will only last our entire lives if we CHOOSE it too. Who knows if we'll still be testing ourselves in this way and being in this particular story 5, 10 or 20 years from now.

I don't think it's fair to brand yourself as weak-willed after putting up with four pregnancies and still taking care of four kids? Chile miners would have difficulty putting up with that. My point is you're a very strong woman and it should be easy for you to be in control of your bad habits.

The chubby middle, it's very normal to be overweight after four pregnancies. Don't get obsessed with it and keep exercising as much as your daily routine allows and yeah skip dinner. Good luck

It's quite normal to be carrying a little extra weight after having four kids. You either learn to live with it, or are so perturbed by it that you resolve to change. As long as your decision is based upon how you see yourself and not on how you think others see you.
