Is it normal to not be able to sleep?

For the past few years I have not only had trouble getting to sleep, but staying asleep. Normally it takes me an hour or more to get to sleep. And I rarely sleep through the night. Usually I wake up at some point and can't go back to sleep for a long time. I try taking sleeping pills but I don't want to have to take one every night just to sleep. Is this normal and what can I do to fix it?

Parasites are a common cause of insomnia. Do you have IBS somewhat?

I have been finding it harder and harder to sleep these days myself. Your not alone buddy. It really throws me off my game. I wish I could help.

Are they prescription pills or milder ones from the supermarket? Is it possible for you to try drinking a hot milky drink/having a warm bath before bed? Reading in bed always sends me off.
Do you drink too much coffee during the day?
How about listening to relaxation CDs, for example-
