Is it normal to not be able to get over him?

So there's this kid that I met about a year and a half ago. I started to have a huge crush on him within a couple months. At the time he had a girlfriend, and they broke up after we stopped talking. Even after not talking to this kid for just under a year now, I can't stop thinking about him. He just recently got another girlfriend, and I know I need to move on. The thing is, I don't know how to get over him. is it normal to have such strong feelings like this for someone you barely know?

I think this is a trick our minds play on us. Our brain is pleasured by a person's appearance and mannerisms and it is both soothing and exciting. It is like a drug. But the truth is this person may be nothing like what we want them to be. But you haven't found a stronger distraction than him, so your brain keeps going back to this pleasure of imagining him. It is hard to comprehend it though if you don't spend enough time with him to learn his real personality. It is very normal for this to happen when you are young and inexperienced, particularly.

Thank you all! And I highly doubt there's anyway that I can ever have him.

Completely normal. But you have to learn to move on. He moved on and you should too. Finding someone else is the best way to get over someone.

Is there anyway you can be with him?

Just stay away from him. Once you find someone else you'll get over him.

Plus don't force yourself to forget him, that only makes things worse. Over time you'll get over him also.
