Is it so important to know that Andy Capp is called Willi Wakker in Germany?
Or that Fanny Chmelar was a famous skier?
Don't worry about it. You're probably ace at the things you do know. Or as Sherlock Holmes would say...
"I consider that a man's brain originally is like a little empty attic, and you have to stock it with such furniture as you choose. A fool takes in all the lumber of every sort that he comes across, so that the knowledge which might be useful to him gets crowded out, or at best is jumbled up with a lot of other things, so that he has a difficulty in laying his hands upon it."
Wouldn't say it's normal. But you not reading doesen't need to be the reason. I have a lot of uselell knowledge about random stuff, so i usually know some answers on quiz shows. However I almost never read a book because I suck at reading. Yet I can't avoid learning new things every day in conversations, on the internet or from documentaries.
This kind of knowledge is more about what things you choose to memorise and that desicion usually happens subconsciously. Maybe you're just not the guy who wastes his brain space with useless information.
Who was the chaser?
I'm pretty sure it's racist that they nickname the only black guy "The Dark Destroyer"
