Is it normal to never want a girlfriend?

Some guys out there are lover boys. I'm the complete opposite lol I've had girl before and was in a relationship. but i dont like the whole Relationship thing, its not for me. So much drama and lets all admit they NEVER last. When i say i never want a Girlfriend, Im dead serious. I wanna die a bachelor. Ive seen alot in my life what women can do to men, and its not pretty! all im saying is, i will date women but I'ma toss'em like my under clothes ;)

Notice how when a woman says exactly the same thing it is seen as a statement of power and liberation, yet when a man says it he is met with derision and condemnation? Appears you have touched on a double standard here.

There have been TV shows glorifying women doing this, "Sex and The City" anyone?, yet they get mad at you just because of your gender. Don't worry about these sexist assholes.

Personally I think you should do as you please with your life. Just try not to hurt anyone else in the process, okay.

      Let's find out.

      A woman would say:
"Some girls out there are lover girls. I'm the complete opposite. I've had a boy before and was in a relationship. But I don't like the whole relationship thing, it's not for me. So much drama and let's all admit: they NEVER last. When I say I never want a boyfriend, I'm dead serious. I wanna die a sinlge lady. I've seen alot in my life what men can do to women, and its not pretty! All I'm saying is, I will date men but I'ma toss'em like my under clothes."

Yepp. I have this feeling that such a post would get like 20 thumbs up, 15 "you go, girl!"s, and 12 "That is sexual liberation from those dirty bastards right there! Atta girl!"s.

      • This is so true it's absurd.

It's all so counter productive really, feminist displays such as these have only served to make women look weak.

And the biggest joke of all is the whole "feminist sexual liberation" thing. Women aren't liberated by sleeping around, they're giving sexist men exactly what they want, an easy screw! I don't know what dumbfuck woman first thought that by fucking guys she was getting back at them, but she was apparently unaware that men like sex.

          • I've met far more women who were non-feminist than those who were.

            To quote a hilarious (but offensive) friend of mine;

"We're strong, independant women, so that's why we need a giant support group made up of lesbians, retards and whores."

Hahaha... True, women who are truly strong and independent probably don't have to talk about it and make a big deal about themselves.

Sexist assholes? That's very presumptuous of you, given that you don't actually know how we would reply if the OP was female. When anyone says they're going to treat someone else like "under clothes", then I'm going to call their outlook ugly, regardless of their gender.

Have any of us actually given you any reason to call us sexist assholes, or were you merely just assuming that we reacted the way we did *just* because the OP is male? Because I'd rather you didn't.

He simply wants to be single for life and have short term sexual relationships. There are plenty of women out there who want the same thing, that he could be with for that, without hurting anyone.

However you and others have decided to jump on him, telling him he has a negative view of women, a bad attitude and is undateable. When he said nothing to indicate that. I have to imagine that this is inspired by your sexist view that this man needs to fit your desired gender role for men and if he doesn't then you should criticize him.

"says they're going to treat someone else like "under clothes"
He never said that. He said he was going to toss them like under clothes. I am guessing he meant that when underwear has worn out you throw it away. It is not an item people tend to keep after it is worn out.
I think again you interpreted it that way because of your sexist anger that he does not desire to live within a typical gender role.

I don't have a problem with people leading a single life. I've said many times on the site that I don't care how much sex people are having, as long as they're being safe and healthy about it, that's what matters; that applies to both genders. So, it's not really about any desired gender role, because I believe people should be able to do what they want.

My problem wasn't with the amount of women he sleeps with (how could it be, when he hasn't even stated the amount?), it was the last sentence, which is why in my original comment I quoted it, which was to specify that that was what my comment revolved around.

Perhaps I did misinterpret the quote, but either way, the way he phrased it was ugly, in my opinion. And I'd say the same if a women said it, actually, so it's got nothing to do with some sort of feminist agenda or whatever. To me, it just sounded like they considered the people he dated to be as irrelevant as underwear; an item of clothing which he has very little regard for, rather than seeing them as people who he can have sex with. That's all.:) I'd rather not get called sexist, because I don't think I've said anything sexist, and because I'm not sexist.

"i will date women but I'ma toss'em like my under clothes ;)"

Good luck finding women to date with that attitude! If you have that view of women, then it's probably convenient that you don't want a relationship. I agree with ProseAthlete, you seem very undateable; your outlook is sort of ugly to me.

Okay, so I'm gonna attempt to side step the whole battle of the sexes argument here and go out on a limb regarding the, "i will date women but I'ma toss'em like my under clothes" thang. Okay I'm wiling to bet that anyone, male or female, that makes that kind of statement is more than likely quite bitter and jaded and holding a lot of resentment against the opposite sex as a result of bad life experiences.

probably a good thing you've 'decided' not to have a girlfriend, because it doesn't sound like you'd be able to get one anyway

There is probably some woman feeling the same way saying: "I've seen a lot of what MEN can do to women and it's not pretty" and she's probably referring to idiots like you.

You are doing all of womankind a favor by deciding now that you don't want any of them as your girlfriend. You can say you'll date women, but you sound pretty much undateable to me, so I wouldn't worry about how to get out of relationships; you probably won't find that much of an issue.

Dayum! That's harsh dude. But whatever you want.
Personally, I like a good relationship. When I am in a relationship with a good girl, life is heaven on earth. But good girls are hard to find (Good as in pretty, smart, good personality, supportive, loving and caring)
Cause in essense, those are the things a relationship is based on.

Besides, I want to have children and make up hunting stories. I'm a hunter. I have a losy kill-list, but a bit of exageration makes it interesting right? XD

I know a lady who is 60 years old and never married and she is happy. I want to be like her and I'm a guy. Happiness doesn't always come from relationships or sex.
