Is it normal to never be nude in front of someone else?

I have a problem where I can never be nude in front of someone else (not even my girlfriend). I actually resort to wearing various sorts of shorts under my clothing so the possibility of being nude would never arise. This is impacting my gf quite heavily and I want to show her this is normal. Thanks!

Being naked is liberating! She WANTS to see you naked so it's not like she'll be aghast. Give nakedness a try, what's the worst that can happen? An orgasm? That's a pretty awesome worst option.

So what do you do when you make love during the daylight hours? Make her wear a blindfold? If she's not into that, maybe you could go into another room and call her on the phone and explain that it's perfectly normal to have phone sex when you're in the same house with her because nobody wants to see those naked bodies. Ha!

Typically I will turn out the lights, get under the covers, and unzip the fly to my shorts and pull my penis through. Then we have sex for several minutes and when I cum I will zip up my fly and go to the bath room to clean up.

You're a real comedian with that phone sex stuff. You should be on the blue collar comedy tour, jerk.

you shouldn't try to show her it's normal, b/c it's not. instead, you should try to show her that despite any short comings you may have, you're still a good human being who lovers her very much etc, etc, and that you will work towards overcoming your fear if she's willing to be patient with you. compromise.

I do believe the scientific name for this is called "never nude." Oops I mean gymnophobia. Your name isn't Tobias Funke, per chance is it??

It's normal to be insecure of your body, but eventually you'll have to be naked in front of your significant other SOME time.

If you love your gf & she loves you, and are both mature adults...nudity shouldn't be a big deal, just something that happens naturally. Plus you both should love eachother for who you are, not what you look like naked.

If you can learn to get over this, I think you will both be happier.
Plus nothing is more satisfying than skin-to-skin, butt ass naked sex. :)

It's not normal! OK put it this way, do you think constantly pulling your penis out of your shorts/underwear is normal? ITS NOT LOL. When people are in a relationship over time the girl probably wants to take showers w.her boyfriend.. lay there naked after they have sex etc...

It's very normal some people are jut not comfortable with their body. And as for your gf she needs to understand that you don't have to show her your body and she doesn't want to respect that then she shouldn't be with you anyways

I can't do it either. My body, I'll show it to who ever I want. Which is nobody.

Its normal. Just watch Arrested Development. There's a character on there that refers to himself as a "never-nude" or something like that. lol

Let me agree with you here im the same im very sexual but the whole nudity thing doesnt feel right and from my research nudity is more common than you could believe but on the other hand i think its psychological if you can be nude always and hate clothes and be with your family like that and be 'ok' youve seriously have something amiss in your head...free?im sick of hearing that..how can everyone be naked always and not be sexual???thats what i call sick..and to the op i concur....your not wrong...

  • Why are so many people screwed-up about nudity?

Why not start to get comfortable with being naked by walking around the house nude when nobody else is home.
Then go to a naturist beach, find a quiet spot, take your kit off, and enjoy (but don't forget the suncream).

    That should fix it.

I tried, but she doesn't believe me when I tell her a lot of people suffer this problem. I had hoped this will show her a lot of people suffer with this every day.

  • hey it's normal, man! Everybody has their fears and embarrassing moments. Tell your girlfriend it's normal that you're uncomfortable. If you never have though, and you want to get over it, just give it a shot, see what she thinks, and there you go, you've got an answer. Just a quick slip of the pants. Like jumping off of a diving board; just force yourself off and you'll be alright in the end. If you don't mind that she's never seen you, just forget about it, because it concerns you more than her. It is YOUR body and if you don't want anybody to see it that's up to you, and it's perfectly fine. Really, it's your choice.
