Is it normal to need to research thouroughly before i buy something?

Whenever I decide to buy an item I always have to be very thorough in finding what I want. For example if I wanted to buy a iPod I would research where I could get the best one, latest version and best deal. It can get very time consuming.

    It's 100% normal! You want to save your money, I do the same thing, I saved £300 on new a TV by searching for about 4 hours :) I'm happy !

    It is of course normal, since it is a good way for you to get the best and the cheapest items. But to be first, you should know various resource about these items you want to buy.
