Is it normal to need social interaction?

Is it normal to feel like I need social interaction? When I'm alone for more than a few hours I get depressed, restless and even to the point of suicidal... I'd never do it... I just think about it... When I am with someone and I feel like they are getting ready to leave or end the hang out I suddenly feel panicked.. I don't want them to go. I've always been like this.. Also when I am hanging out I feel awkward and I try to pay as much attention as possible to my actions...

Yes. This is partially why I get excited when I go to have appointments with my therapist. It means that I can have an hour long (50 minutes) of talking to a intelligent and competent person who understands me! The people I know offline, most seem to be incompetent assholes and solitude CAN make you go insane. Have you tried going out and engaging with others? Like taking up a community college class or a hobby? Etc.

It's totally natural for human beings to feel this way. People think it's unhealthy to crave attention and social interaction but they don't realise that we NEED social interaction ti be healthy mentally!

AS the Beatle song says, "All you need is love.."

I can't give you too much help with this because I'm a total introvert, and socially anxious, and can spend hours upon hours by myself and be perfectly content. But I'd google the words "extraversion" and "autophobia" and see if either of those pertain to you in some way.

I get upset in a similar way but not to the point of feeling suicidal, I just get upset/sad.
