Is it normal to miss the toys in cereal?

Not sure if this is a British thing but I remember when I was little (about 10-15 years ago) kids cereal such a Cocoa Pops had toys in them? I also remember hounding my mom to buy me the cereal for the specific toy, even if I didn't like the cereal.
I miss this, todays kids are missing out! All they get is a guarantee there's wheat in the cereal and a lovely "30% more cereal" sign.

    God, the fights I got into with my siblings over those toys. Blood was literally spilt.

    One time we opened a box of cereal to find out something had gone wrong on the production line and there were 15 toys in the box. It was even better than the time I got a Kit-Kat with no wafer, just chocolate.

    All I remember getting was a fuckin ninja turtle ring. Donatello if memory serves me correctly.

    Same thing here in the US, they just stopped for some reason. But a few days ago, they put a toy car in my nephews box of reses puffs so I guess it's coming back. Only difference was that it was placed on the outside of the bag.

    Yeah i loved collecting the cereal toys. I also loved it when we would get a new fridge or tv ect and then i could have the massive box to play in after. Literally could just sit in an empty box for hours play pretending.

    Now it's all mail in! It sux to be a kid now. We had the life! Best summer of my life was when mom and dad got a new fridge! That meant that my bro and I had this HUGE box to at with! It was a rocket ship, a house, a cave, a racecar, etc. All summer until the little booger left it out in the yard and it got rained on and disintegrated...I miss that box...better than an shod any day.

    I miss the toys too. Although they were cheesy half the time it was still something to look coward too. Or fight over w a sibling. Things are just nit as cool as they use to be. I live technology, but I'd rather have those days back when the simple things in life were the greatest.

    It sucks they got rid of them, the best thing about cereal was the toy in the box. No matter how cheap the toy was.
