Is it normal to miss the hospital?

I was in the hospital for about a month when I was younger, and when there, I didn't like it, and I wished to be home. But after I recovered, I missed the hospital. It had felt like a safe home, unlike the dangerous uncertain world I am in now. Is this normal, to attach feelings to a place where I was in pain?

I guess if you see it as a place where you recovered rather than a place where you were in pain. Although that too:S. I feel like you've sort of answered your own question. If it felt safe to you, then I think it's understandable for you to feel the way you do. Or maybe it was just the delicious food they have there. And don't even get me started on those trendy hospital gowns!:P

I had to spend a large part of last year in the hospital and I miss it almost every day.
The nurses there cared more about me in the 6 hours a day I saw them than I think my parents do.

Understandable. The nice nurses, people catering you and waiting on you hand and foot..I thoroughly enjoyed my two night stay after I had my son.

Well if you were there for a long time you might have got an attachment. Like you do with a new place you live. This does not sound common but I do not think it is abnormal.

For some reason, your post reminds me of "Curious George Goes to the Hospital". In story, The Man with the Big Yellow Hat buys a puzzle and he leaves George at home and tells him not to open the puzzle box because it's a surprise. Of course, George doesn't listen. He opens the box and thinks that the brightly coloured pieces are candy and he eats of the pieces. Later that day, George isn't feeling well and the Man in the Big Yellow Hat is concerned and takes him to the doctor the next day. They do X-Rays on George and discover that puzzle is stuck inside George. The Man in the Big Yellow Hat takes him to the hospital. My memory starts growing gauge around this part... I remember George has to wait awhile before he can have his surgery and he is omitted in the Children's ward where he gets into mischief and makes friends with this sad girl. Then, the day comes when he is to go into surgery and he ends up going into a panic when the nurses attempt to give him a shot and he is made to drink some medicine. He's goes into surgery and of course his surgery is a success. I think he was supposed to rest for one day and on the next The Man with the Big Yellow Hat will come to pick him up. On the next day he somehow gets himself into the situation of taking a food cart hostage and he crashes it into these important men who came to visit the hospital. Everyone is so angry at George that he starts to cry but then the quiet and depressed girl comes to his defense and the mess is somehow resolved. Then, The Man with the Big Yellow Hat comes to pick him up and all of the people at the hospital tell him goodbye. The story ends...

Ok. This experience was the worst in my life, so far. Thank you for that answer. I understand now that i was saved, but when there, I screamed at the good people there helping me since I did not realize it. I feel bad for the people who had to listen to me.

Don't worry, I'm sure they've had to deal with much worse.
