Is it normal to miss fictional characters (but not real people)?

Sometimes, after finishing a work of fiction I have been absorbing, I miss the characters and their colorful personalities (though I never miss real people). I can go for months at a time without seeing any friends and be content, but I find myself feeling depressed as soon as I must part ways with characters. I will even daydream and concoct elaborate fantasy worlds in which I coexist with the characters, but I can hardly stand being around real people for too long.

  • Real people are boring. There are so many admirable characters out there-!

I miss my toon from one of the mmorpgs I have been playing 3 years ago more than anyone else , like it is some kind of real person

I dont miss characters from books as much. I tend to forget about them within couple of days of finishing a book but I still experience frustration because I will never read about them again

I draw comic strips and I remember much of the characters I've created in the past with fond sentiment, like a friend I haven't seen for a long time but still think of from time to time.
