Is it normal to miss borders books?

I loved going there. It was such a great place to hange out. People played chess there and they had a great selection of books. Barnes & Noble just doesn't cut it for me the same way Borders did. When I found out they were closing I almost cried.

  • To me, it's like lamenting the loss of Mr. Pibb when MD Pepper is still around. They're basically carbon (see what I did there?) copies of one another.

But yes, I understand. I too grieve for Borders.

But it's mostly because I have one less store for me to walk into and instantly feel posh and intellectual.

I had a Borders next to my local mall and I loved going there. I loved going to the big library and reading the various textbooks from Atheism to Zoology and now it's gone and replaced with SOME FUCKING HOME GOOD STORE. SCREW THE HOUSEWIVES, I WANT MY BOOK STORE BACK >.<

Y'know, I'm British so I've never been to a Barnes and Noble, but when I was staying in New York there was a Borders right across from my hotel and I went there every day. I thought it was really awesome how people just lay about reading and never got told to stop by staff. Really good place, sorry to hear it's closed :(

Probably because they just read the books and never bought anything XD but it was a great place, the one nearby me was huge and had stuff in it that I'd never seen before.

Borders had the best manga section. At least the ones I went to.

Barnes & Noble and Booksamillion SUCKS when it comes to their manga.

I do very much miss Borders :(

Although I didn't go to Borders as often as Barnes and Nobles...it was a great bookstore!

Sad thing is i never been there UNTIL they were closing. I was visiting in Florida and my aunt was working. I was home alone bored with the dog and just left and found a borders. I stayed there for hours reading finacial books and poetry. I loved it. But its too late now :\

I used to buy manga from there back when bookstores carried manga. It was a great store.

I was never fond of Borders. The store was either too cramp or too big like a warehouse. I never got a warm and cozy vibe like I do with B&N.

  • They closed down a Barnes & Noble where I moved. I have to go to Booksamillion now and it sucks.
