Is it normal to mentally stutter and repeat words?

I don't stutter/stammer when talking, but in my mind, I often stumble when thinking to myself. I repeat words to myself too.
So... my thoughts are kind of like this:

"Oh yeah, I wa was was wa.. was going to go do something."

It seems like it's because the word wasn't 'said' right in my mind. It usually happens on letters/sounds like W, S, and R.

Do other people do this?

I do the exact same thing. When this happens I am actually able to verbally express myself better than normal. i don't know why I do this but it is annoying.

I stutter in real-life and I found myself stuttering in my thoughts sometimes but it's only when I'm not really focused on what I'm thinking about I just tend to drift off and the last word that was on my mind gets repeated until I'm back on track.

    Hope you understood

This is a tough one... I understand stuttering with the words being said, but the word's being thought? I replay what I think over and over in my mind, reason being I struggle to let go of subjects when all of my peers already have. You might have a minor case of my problem. It is just stuttering, after all.
