Im a 22 year old mother of 2. I am very old fashioned considering I was raised by my grandma and I think that's the main reason why I have always dated really older men. The oldest I ever dated is 40 years old and is my son's father but recently I have been dating this guy who is 53 years and he is very great but Im really confused and would really want to hear another's opinion.

    You're 22, and you are an unwed mother of two children with a 40 year old man... As far as the US goes, no you're not very old fashioned.

    I don't think that this is normal but if you two care for eachother and have a good relationship, I don't see why you shouldn't. Do you have a reason not to?

      no i dont have a reason not to marry him. he is great, he loves and care for me alot. i believe im blessed to have found such a wonderful man. have gotten over the age difference - my family loves him and thats what i was mostly worried about. thank u all for all ur positive comments

    It depends how long you've been dating.

    My friend was very happy with her older man, until they moved in together. Now he never wants to take her out and resents her coming out with the girls. He is ready for his pipe and slippers and wants her to sit in a rocking chair and knit. She's out dancing and getting drunk.

    They are due to move house - and after 4 years, they have both agreed that they should go their separate ways :o(

    I don't think that's normal personally, but who am I to judge? Would you really let the opinion of a complete stranger come between you and the man you love? (If you love him, that is.)

    If you can see yourself with him 4 the rest of his life beginning with his present age 53, then there's 60,70, 80 maybe 90, then I would say no there is nothing wrong with settling down with him. You will always be 31 years younger.
