Is it normal to make yourself throw up every once in a while?

The other day I was home alone and I was really hungry. I was looking for something good to eat and I found some of my boyfriends ice cream in the freezer. I really didn't want to eat it, but it looked so good.

After I ate it I felt really bad and knew what I did was wrong. I was also having like a panic attack. I kept thinking about my modeling agent and what she would say if she figured out or seen I put on weight. I couldn't stand it anymore and went into my bathroom to throw up. I do it every once in a while, but not a lot. It's just on rare occasions when I think I ate too much. Is this normal? I mean it's not like I do it all the time.

Some people on here are rude.

One of my best friends had an unhealthy relationship with food, and this is how it started. She would eat something, feel bad about it, and then make herself throw it back up. It is not normal in a healthy way. If you've had a problem with food for a while, you should seek medical help because it could potentially lead to an eating disorder. My friend did eventually end up with bulimia and she was put into a rehab facility for 6 months because of it. She also went from a size 6 to a size 00 in about 3 months, and she lost chunks of her hair, and she started getting chronic acne, and she started growing hair in places it shouldn't be noticeable on a woman. When you have an eating disorder, your hormones go haywire. Please be careful and please talk to someone. Don't turn to an online advice column for life threatening situations.

    I wish you the best.

No, how can you think it's normal? You're bulimic, go to a doctor.

The fact that you couldn't resist the ice cream, even though you "really didn't want to eat it", suggests that you have an unhealthy relationship with food. Forcing yourself to throw up because you think you have eaten too much is not normal. Please get help for this before it escalates into a full-blown eating disorder. Good luck.

I do this once every year or 2 but it's more about too much booze than my modeling career.

I throw Molotov cocktails every once in a while. Actually, a little more than every once in a while…

Advice: take 2 teaspoons of epsom salt and 8oz of water and stir it up and drink it through a straw, Wait 30min to 6 hours and prepare to go to the BATHROOM within that time period. You welcome! Its way more healthier then throwing up and it makes you feel great! I am super afraid of throwing up, I think its gross. But sometimes my stomach feels bloated and My body feel weighted down so it makes me want to stop eating. Instead what you should b doing this time is drink loads of water and eat fresh fruits and veggies. That would help u feel much better and u will actually lose a lot of weight that way. But it would b a healthy weight lost and mostly water weight and waste will be lost. Goodluck!

If I have a serious stomach ache or feel nausea and can't seem to throw up, then I do and usually I feel better. But never for loosing weight reasons

Fine. I deserved that. I think you know that you should not be making yourself throw up. If you eat properly to begin with, you won't feel the need to chow down on something that will just make you feel guilty about it. And if it does happen, why not go for a walk or a bike ride or something afterwards rather than making yourself puke.
