Is it normal to make small changes?

If I could make a small (lasting) improvement in my life every day that would be 365 a year. In 3 years that would be 1000 changes that would improve my life!
Today I started with not teasing the poodle over the back fence to make it bark so she can't be in peace on her day off. (It barks at me all the time when she is at work) anyhow what do others think? no nasty shit either bitches...hey I might stop swearing tomorrow :D

If you have the discipline and sheer tenacity to keep at something like that, by all means, do it.

Good for you! Although, I don't generally tease dogs, my Siamese cat does it for me.

  • Neat idea!

Malcolm says it takes roughly ten thousand hours of practice to achieve mastery.

I don't think it is exactly normal, but it is a great behavior that I can guarantee you will be happy with in the long run.

I wouldn't call it normal, but it certainly isn't anything negative. If you do this, then props to you. It could be very interesting and hey, if your experience is worthwhile, write a book on it. Even if you miss a day or two, I wish you luck. And have fun!

There's no such thing as small change! But you do have a good plan. It's always good to take one step at a time to get where you want so you don't put so much pressure on yourself. If you fail in one step, you try again. If you go for a big change and fail you might give up when you realize you're too far from where you want to get.

Out of those 1000 changes, 50 or so will probably change your life significantly for the better.

Maybe not statistically normal, since most people are afraid of change, but it's an awesome attitude to have. And it's a lot more effective than being a perfectionist and overloading yourself.

I gave up swearing for Lent. It's hard, because I'm really obscene around the house.

Sounds like a really good idea as a matter of fact I am going to do it too, and I nearly died laughing reading how you torture your neighbor like that.

Wow, I don't think I've ever met anyone as perfect as you. Keep it up and you might become my idol.
