Is it normal to love two people

I love two girls and I don't know what to do. I met one through a room mate when I was in school. She lives half way across the country but she is one of the most lovable people I know. She treats me amazingly and is respectable and loyal. I spent a week with her and it was one of the best weeks of my life and her family loves me too. The other lives in my home town and I was dating her going on 3 years when I had to move away. We have so many memories but there not all good. She loves me so much that it hurts her and some times she lashes out and hurts both of us. We've gone through so much and in the end she is faithful and caring but her family hates me to the fullest extent of the word. Idk what to do...
