Is it normal to love the feeling of cutting yourself?

Let me be more specific, I used to cut at a VERY young age (9-12) and I was wondering if it was normal at that age to love the sight of your blood oozing out or just the feeling in general. I wasn't exactly depressed or needed control in my life, I just liked doing it.

I knew a friend that started to cut himself because he joined a friend group of depressed people. He was not depressed in any sense. I immediately started crying and told my teacher after class, then the cutting ceased. I think his mom talked with him. Would say if your depression starts to near that point talk to anyone you can, if your parent neglect talk to teachers or something they really do care!

It's normal to feel pain and want it. But "what is healthy"?

    • I get that, but I mean I was really young and feel like this was the start of a lot of my sociopathic tendancies, was just curious if anyone else cut just because they loved seeing blood come out of wounds
