Is it normal to love the doctor, yet find doctor who to be boring?

I just love the Doctor, mainly David Tennant's portrayal of him. I love his mannerisms, the way he thinks, the concept of what he is and what he does, and even how the past and present actors who have portrayed the Doctor act and have evolved. But... the show itself, bores me half to death. I don't really understand Science fiction and I only like about a sixth of the episodes that I've watched.

Is it normal to love the Doctor, yet not like the show?

    I LOVE Doctor Who! :D I can see why Doctor Who would be appealing, especially David Tennant's Doctor Who, who was amazing. Although, I admit, some of the stories can be a bit silly though, the one with the Vicar who turned into a wasp? Smh, what were they thinking? What do you think about Matt Smith's Doctor?

      To be honest, I have only seen maybe a handful or less of Matt Smith's episodes. In the very beginning, right after David's tearful goodbye and declaration of him not wanting to go made me so sad that I just automatically didn't like the replacement, but the more I watch it, the more he grows on me. But i'm positive that I'll never like him as good as David Tennant. I guess he'll always be my iconic ”doctor” :)

        That's true, I thought exactly the same when David regenerated, it brought a tear to my eye. But now I'm in love with Matt's charisma and eccentric Doctor :D

    Hiya,

    Agree about Eastenders; I’ve never got its appeal.

    Loved David Tennant's Dr, mostly because of John Simm's Master. He was gorgeous! (but then I’m a big fan of him anyway). When he “died” so did my interest.

    I love Dr. Who, and Matt Smith! I could see how if you're not completely into it from the beginning, it can be hard to get into. But it sounds like you've been watching for awhile.

      Yay a shout out for smith. Personally i think Matt Smith shits all over David tennant. Tennants dr had two different emotions happy and not happy. Smith can fucking act! Best Dr since Baker.
