Be careful where you get your news from. From what I have *HEARD*, BBC is a great source... but probably not as entertaining.
It is normal. They are both funny as hell. When I was younger, I preferred Colbert but I now prefer Stewart.
Funny story, also from about 2 years ago. I used to watch Fox News because it was always on my Aunt's TV and I considered it to be somewhat legit until they said that Stewart was racist for making fun of Hermain Cain because Cain was black. That was the point at which I figured out that Fox News was full of shit. It didn't help that they spent a whole damn hour before that talking about how low it was of the Democratic party to call "racism" every time Republicans said something bad about a member of a racial minority.
Dude, I watched Fox News for about 30 seconds and figured out it was a total bullshit fest. Scary that people don't see it. Or see it sooner.
Well, it happens when you are either not too well educated, you don't get out much or don't know too much about world politics.
Mostly it is a Democrat fuck fest. Considering how, here in California, the Dems vote through every tax humanly possible and businesses are having to close up like no tomorrow, I wouldn't blame anyone for being angry at them.
I heard Fox has the right to lie on the news show. Is fucked up enough to be believable.
Fox News is sort of like the Colbert Report. The difference is Colbert spouts outrageous bullshit for laughs, Fox wants you to believe theirs to be truth.
I dislike both of them. Whenever they come on Comedy Central Extra, I change the channel.
Of course! Colbert and his hatred for bears is hilarious to say the least.
I used to like John Stewart more but now it's all about the Colbert Report.
This guy DESTROYED bush at the 06 white house correspondents dinner
then he moved on to congress and obliterated them on national television
they're both great though
Satire is such an informative and trustworthy medium to broadcast news on. Much better than news that gives you facts, rather than facts hiding behind funny shit.

Colbert Report is funny, but John Stuart is a stupid Liberal spineless bastard. He just says what people want to head while making funny gestures. Fuck the Daily Show.
Colbert is just as liberal, if not more so. Don't you understand the joke is that he is pretending to be a republican.
They're both coming from the left, it's a young audience. Colbert is funnier because he is faking being a serious professional journalist, while Stewart is a hipster comedian. I think Colbert has better writers too, but I'm sure they all collaborate together.
Colbert smokes Stewart all day long. I hate Stewart's way of finshing sentences by pausing before the last word and finishing in a................falsetto.
I watch neither but when I used to frequent tumblr, my dash would be flooded with Colbert and Stewart's gifs of their shows. If I want serious news I'll go to the BBC (that is if I can ever get the channel to work!) or CNN.
I used to hate 'em when I was young, but now I can actually grasp the humor and I love 'em.
Colbert pwns ass!
If I were American and therefore had more of a vested interest in American politics I'd 'get' more of the humour, so I'd enjoy watching them. As it happens I'm not, and don't.
It's normal you enjoy them, and it's normal I don't :P
I wouldn't recommend using them as your main source for news, however. It'll only give you a narrow view of what's going on in America, and an even narrower view of what's going on outside the US. There's a lot people won't joke about that doesn't involve the US that you won't hear about on either show. But if you mostly watch the news when it's being delivered satirically then that's understandable :)
I've been thinking of watching them. Does anyone know how I can get new episodes in England, like what channel they're on or where/if I find them online?
I need to learn about American politics and they sound like fun and informative shows :P
YES. I fucking LOVE the Daily Show and the Colbert Report!
I haven't seen them since I got rid of satellite TV, I wonder if there's anywhere online where I can watch them?? T_T
I watched the daily show with Craig Kilborn almost every night. I'll catch those shows once in a while now but I don't watch much tv.
