    Is it normal? Well, I just turned 40 this year, which means that 53 is not that far away......so, I sure as he'll hope it's normal.

    You are who makes the rules and what is normal for your life true. Don't let anyone take that away from you, or make you feel shame.

    i think that's pretty normal. as bazwell said there's usually a stigma attached to women over 50 years old coz of the whole menopause thing. just coz you go through one doesn't necessarily mean you lose your sex drive.

    i hope i'm still like you by the time i reach that age!!

    Most people associate old age in women with menopause, and menopause is misunderstood to mean that a woman automatically loses her sex drive. These are all stereotypes: half-truths now generalized or wildly overexaggerated! The fact that you are 53 and still interested in sex is a great thing for you, and perhaps your friends feel a tinge of envy about this. Hooray for you! enjoy this perfectly normal element of yourself and revel in it!
