Is it normal to love saw this much?!

I'm starting to love it a little too much! I know all 7 Saw films like the back of my hand (yes I know the 7th wasn't amazing but I still wanted to cry when it ended) and I can't help but laugh with excitement!
I have to admit I've got a little bit too good at the whole "Hello, I want to play a game" speechs, I send them to my mates to put a smile on their faces (lol I sound like such a loser) I could seriously sit and write them all day...maybe I should consider a career in the thriller film industry?
I have the hugest softspot for Jigsaw, what a genius, I mean how often is it you empathise with a "murderer"?! And I fancy him a little too but we wont go into that...
I'm kinda hoping there's more Saw freaks out there? Or am I the only one hoping in vain for a Saw 8? 7 Years of being in love with Jigsaw, I am just not ready to let go!
Live or die Saw...you decide.

How come horror/slasher films spawn so many sequels compared to other genres? Serious question, by the way.

    • It's such an open genre, from zombies to ninja murdering cats (lol) you can turn ANYTHING into a horror. Almost anyone can come up wtih new ideas how to torture people...well I say almost, I think you have to be a bit tapped.
Plus Westerns and Gangster films etc. can become dated, horrors never will.
That being said I could think of about a million different stories for Pirates of the Caribbean, role on Pirates of the Caribbean 17 lol!

I love Saw almost as much as you. It's just one of those things to become obsessed with. And of course I'm hoping for an 8th movie aswell :)

Hmmm, now thinking about that, I don't believe that was a good enough answer for your question Dappled :-) Let me get back to you on that one.

I have a theory but because it's not a genre that appeals to me (I'm impossible to scare), I thought I'd ask someone who is more "in the know".

I lost interest in Saw after Saw 3. Saw IIII on YouTube though is highly amusing. @Dappled I believe that horrors always spawn sequels, purely because people will always go to see them as they play a significant part in the whole movie/date scene and @definetelynotnormal89 murdering ninja cats? I would pay money to see that :-D
