Is it normal to love my job but get bored

Like I love my job so much I work at a sub shop but sometimes it will be completely dead for like hours and I clean every thing, restock and stuff it just sucks because i hate standing around doing nothing. Is there things I can do to help this?
Thanks!

Ask your manager what the next thing you can do

I'd love to love my job. I do not <3 my job.

I did work in a sub shop a long time ago and it wasn't too bad at the time. Got to make myself tasty sammiches to bring home. Yum. Oh and that little scuffle I got into with some bitch about fried chicken. Good times. She said I needed a Midol. Pretty accurate.

      Ha!

I am wondering now if the OP was talking about subs as in sandwiches or subs as in car audio...

Oh damn. I didn't even think of the car audioness. Silly me, always food on the brain.

Would your manager be open to the idea of you bringing a laptop or using your phone during these hours? That's one way to kill time and maintain interest.

Count your fingers and your toes. And if that's still not enough, count your fingers again just to be sure.

Take a class and do your homework in the slow periods, but as we all know; if you need time for something like that, there won't be any slow periods.

Taking a class is a good idea. You might even tell your boss that you are interested in taking classes. You don't really need to tell him that you are taking them on his time unless he supports you efforts.
