Is it normal to love my car

I own a 1998 Honda civic and I absolutely love it! I have a 4 year old and I'm 28. I bought it back in college for 10k and it has been through everything with me. Everyone keeps asking when I'm going to buy a new car and I know I should be "embarrassed" bc its old and looking old. But here's the thing besides the emotional attachment I laugh at other people who have new pretty cars with high payments. I feel like people look at me like "poor thing look at her and her sad car" but really I love it I have no car payment low registration and low insurance. So I am able to save a lot of money and have a nice size savings account. I know I have to buy a new car sooner than later it has over 225k, but I love having my car and i take care of it so it still runs great. Anyone else loves their old ratty car bc the materialistic side is slightly embarrassed but the practical side squashes those thoughts...

OMFG ! I do the same thing! I bought a 96 dodge neon for about $1,200 3 years ago and it had only 88,000 miles on it. I paid it in full did so many upgrades that it looks like new. Seriously.

Well I love my car so much that I laugh at others who have new cars with very high payments. The best part of my car is the fact it looks like a brand new car. I get many complements and it makes me feel good. I wash my car like at least 5-7 times a month no kinding!

Yes this must be normal. We are the same! Lol

That's a great thing. Shoot I know I don't Like my high truck payment lol. Still love it. But once I'm done paying for it I'll love it more. And well just keep up on the maintenance/repairs and will last a looong time. Unless you get a car at the right price.

I love my car too. W203 facelift Mercedes. She is my baby. I always make sure she runs and looks perfect. Always washed, always shiny and the engine purrs. Perfection! I also have very strict rules in my car.
No muddy/ dirty shoes, no smoking, no drinking, no eating, no placing objects on the dashboard, women's bags and other luggage go in the boot, not on the center console! And never slam a door! That will drive me mad!
I also like to have the air vents all in line and I get angry if anyone moves them.
I keep a small make up brush (given to me by my girlfriend) to clean the switches. Makeup brushes are durable and soft, perfect for cleaning the hard to get spots.
Also a little tip. Never go to auto-washes. Wash the car at touchless car washes, or wash it yourself. Those auto-ripoffs will damage the finish! I have never taken my car to an automatic car wash.

id say, loving a car you have had for a while is a great thing. My dad still regrets getting rid of his '85 dodge ram van, but we needed a bigger van for hauling carpet and it had over 300k miles. Its replacement, a '94 ram b350 van, still runs great at 350 k miles and 13 years of service. Its got some rust, but it still runs

No, loving the car you've worked hard for is not normal at all, you freak. Stupid question.

Honda makes cars sooo amazing that girl you still got 200k miles to go! Screw a new car until the Honda breaks down. Until then keep saving up just in case and taking care of that car!

If I make less the 300$ a year I wouldn't even think of getting a new car. New car is a waist of money in many ways. Honda rocks and 225 is nothing for it. Civic goes up to 500k. I'm laughing at ppl that buy new hyndays or kia or shit like that. Paying so much money and drive a shiny shit box lol. Any body who has little brain wont buy new car. No one can prove me wrong.

If you make less than $300 a year, I don't think buying a car at all is in the cards for you.
