My daughter is always looking at it online, knows all the high end brands, and wants things I don't even know! She's very good at putting it on, but she's makeup/beauty obsessed. Is this normal?
MANY 12 year olds are interesting in make-up. Kids seem to want to grow up so fast these days :(
I started wearing makeup in 7th grade. I wasn't allowed to wear much but enough to go to school and make my friends jealous. That was a good time for me to start it. I have been wearing it since and I'm actually really good at it
Yes! It is perfectly normal. I started wearing makeup the summer before I turned 12. At at age 12, I wore foundation, concealer, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, and lipgloss. When I was a couple of months away from being 13, I got my eyebrows shaped and started filling them in. It all looked very natural, even though it sounds like a lot. I only wore foundation and concealer because I had acne, though. I don't think it's necessary to wear it if she doesn't have acne.

I became intrested in makeup also at about that age, after constantly feeling people's stares after a freak accident with boiling oil. I wear concealer and foundation all the time...

im 5'10 though and when i go out people are always looking at me. so i always feel like i need makeup. so i. can look good, i have TONS of makeup i have a whole big closet thingy full of it :)
That's totally normal I have a 12 year old cousin and she loves to wear makeup. She has more makeup then me and I'm a lot older then her. Her mom lets her wear makeup to school but only lip gloss on and mascara but on weekends she wears eye shadows, eyeliner, lipstick with lip gloss, blush. When I was that age I didn't even know what mascara was I got one when I was 12 and put the mascara on my eyebrow thinking it was to make ur eyebrows darker and nicers....that was SO fun to get off lol.
No but it completly normal they want to feel mature because older people wear makeup and there at the crappy age of being in between being a kid and a 'grown up' they still want to play with barbies and go out and do stuff they used to but think they're to old...
This is sorta like a toy for them they get to paint themselves almost, to some people its like an art and so they're having fun while feeling mature at the same time.
Totally normal at that age but it's up to you as a parent to reign her in.
It's fine as long as she's not drenched in it. Also she might just be reading the clique books..

yes i think it`s totally normal..bcz 12 years girls like barbie and being in style and so..so its normal but she shouldnt put make up coz its to early to put but nt early to love it coz little girls do that:D
