Is it normal to love him even though....

There's a guy named Kaleb that I'ved liked since about september. He has known this too, but he liked another girl named abby. He was my friend, so i didnt really tell him about my feelings. months later, he confesses to me that he likes me, and I told him that I liked him back. We hung out moreand during winter break We did things, but I didn't give him the v-card. We talked all the time and we grew stronger( at least i thought we were.) Eventually winter break ended and we went back to school. the day after he told me he didn't want to be in a relationship with me because he wasnt ready to handle two person's feelings. I told him that I didnt want anything to do with him until he made up his mind on what he wanted because i still think he likes abby. I need help coping with this.
