Is it normal to love a japanese cartoon character and act like them

Ever since I was a little kid I have loved a Japanese anime character named Gaara. I used to think he was real. Infact I thought he was so real that now I don't want any boy who is not like Gaara. The boy has to have red hair and Gaara's personality. I even have a anime story with my friends and I made Gaara my boyfriend and I am going to publish it some day. I even imagine seeing Gaara in real life. I just want to know if anybody else feels this way about television characters

    Good luck getting your fanfiction published. It's gonna be super difficult to secure the copyrights for your beloved character.

    I feel the same way too but not about gaara about this anime girl, I used to obsess about her and have weird thoughts during the day and never dated because I wanted a person like that. But you need to accept the fact and get a real boyfriend because gaara ain't real and most likely there isn't anyone exactly like him

    I think it's normal for someone who is an otaku (anime fanatic). However, you must realize that Gaara is just a fictional character, and that if you expect to find a boy who is just like him in real life, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. And you can't publish your story, because Gaara is a copyrighted character and you would go to court for making a book that uses him as a character. I used to be passionate about anime characters too, but I grew out of it. Perhaps you will one day too.

    the name gaara sounds familiar. i've watched a lot of anime, but i don't think i've seen gaara..his name just sounds familiar.

    anyway, you can always post that story on a fanfic site, if you can find one.
