Is it normal to lostapetite because of lack of smell

Ok, heres the story.

So three months ago, i was skating at a friends house at around 10:00 at night. While bombing the biggest hill in the neighborhood, i hit a water puddle, hydroplaned, and fell backwards which caused me to hit my head. Asside from concussion and a few broken vertibrae i was fine. But i lost my sense of smell. The doctor said it was something that happens and it may come back, but it hasnt yet. But now im beggining to notice that all of my food is bland and i lost cravings for food. Im afraid that i may not eat enough food.

So if you have any advice or ideas that would help. Plus, is it normal to lose smell? Or lose appetite because of a lack of smell? Thanks

  • Yeah this is normal. When I can't smell cause my nose is blocked, food is just not appealing and I don't eat much cause food without taste is just a no.

Smell is a very important part of taste. If you can't smell your food it won't taste as good so it's completely normal that you've lost your appetite and cravings if you've lost your sense of smell.

In the meantime keep eating. At least it will be easy to stay away from fatty foods
