Is it normal to lose taste and smell ability after general anesthetic?

4 months ago after an emergency C Section my wife has lost her sense of taste and smell.She was under general anesthetic for about 1.5 hours and after a very traumatic experience she came home after 6 days with our baby,it's been a hard time for her and most things have returned to normal but the lack of taste and smell persists.Has anyone else experienced this and is it normal?

    I don't think this is normal at all. Go back to the hospital or errrr yet, see a different doctor because sometimes hospitals don't like to admit to wrong doings. Her senses shouldn't have disappeared and definetly not for 4 months!
