Is it normal to look younger than you are?

When I meet people they think I'm like 14 and when I dress up and put make up on I look about 16 or 17. I'm 19 years old damn it I want to feel like I belong in college not in high school as an upcoming freshman.

I try so hard to look older but its just not working for me. My sister is 22 and looks her age. My mother on the other hand is about 50 and looks like shes just now pushing into her 30s. I feel like looking younger is a big disadvantage to me. Will I ever start to look older? Is it too late? Is this even normal for people?

26, couldn't buy beer the other day because the cashier thought my id was fake; said I "couldn't be a day over 16." I'd like to know when it ends too!

That should be illegal. Isn't there a way to tell fakes from real?

I have the same problem. I think we'll like it when we're older. Just ask your mom. She probably enjoys it.

Heh, I'm 20 and people say I look around 14 or 15 without makeup. With makeup, I at least look 16 or 17 but I will always look young and I have finally come to terms with it.

When we are in a 30s and 40s and still getting carded, we will love it =)

Ya it's really good because a family friend said that she went to her 50th high school reunion (ok maybe not 50...idk more like 30?) but she said that she barely recognized all the women who looked like matured adults in high school and then all the skinny girls in high school looked really young still so consider your "problem" a good thing :)

When I was 21 I had my daughter in her pram and was at a newsagents when the old lady behind the counter asked if I was babysitting my brother, I told her my 'brother' was a girl(she still hadn't grown much hair although she was in a bright pink jumpsuit) and she was my daughter, the old lady disgusted went on to tell me how girls shouldn't have kids before their 18, I then told her I was 21 and she looked shocked and said I looked 14! I never went back their again although it was the closet shop to where I lived. I was so embarrassed at the time and wanted to look older but now I'm 31 I wish I looked younger! Enjoy your youthful looks!! They won't last forever!

It's a wonderful thing! I hated it when I was younger but now that I'm in my 30's I couldn't be more thrilled haha.

  • I agree with the person above. When you hit your 35+ your going to strive to look younger and wonder why you've been wanting to look older when you were a teen.
